How Our Orphan Sponsorship Actually Works
Three phases, one child: from Ikram through Hirfah to Kasb — and what each costs.
Most orphan sponsorship stops at a monthly transfer. Ours is built as a pathway with an exit: a child enters at Ikram and, if all goes well, leaves the programme running a business of their own.
Phase one — Ikram (birth to 16)
Food, healthcare, schooling and the basics of a stable childhood, at £50 per orphan per month.
Phase two — Hirfah (16 to 20)
Vocational training matched to the young person’s interests and to real demand in the labour market, at £500 per orphan.
Phase three — Kasb
Microfinance, training and mentorship to launch a small business, at £500 to £2,000 depending on the project.
The point of the structure is that support is not open-ended. It ends because it worked.
