What £100 Actually Buys in a Displacement Camp
A breakdown of our published project costs — and the reasoning behind each one.
We publish what each project costs because a donor deserves to know what a number buys.
- £5 — one bundle of bread, distributed daily.
- £15 — a dates and milk parcel during Ramadan.
- £50 — a hygiene kit, or a month of care for an orphaned child, or winter clothing for a child.
- £100 — a food parcel feeding a family of five for a month.
- £500 — 100 hot meals from our kitchens, or a 10,000-litre water tanker, or a full vocational training place.
The £500 water tanker is the one that surprises people: it serves between three and five thousand people in a day, and cuts waterborne disease in the areas it reaches by around 80%.
